CACS has sponsored this unique community science and stewardship program since 1984. Citizen volunteers adopt a section of the Kachemak Bay shoreline and walk it annually, surveying changes, collecting data on marine life and human impacts, and cleaning up beach litter and marine debris. The 27th annual CoastWalk was a great success, with over 7,000 pounds of marine debris collected and 700 volunteers working to collect debris! Stay tuned for more information about this year's community cleanups.
